Theology or Tongues or ...

Theology or Tongues or ...

The deep, dead theology of the Presbyterians? Or, the disquieting, delirious tongues of the Pentecostals?  Who has best found and followed Your star?  Who are the magi and who are the magicians?  When it makes no sense but to the ones who have surrounded them?!  What is undeniable and what is incredible?  Will a leap of faith end in eternal free fall ending in darkness?  Or, will one jump and then soar away on the wind?!

Here, we wrestle in the muck.  Sometimes the mud even seems soothing.  But it plugs our ears and smears our vision.  The cold ooze is slowly sapping out of us the warmth of life.  And, this is to say nothing of the disease!

Can one clean himself so as to merit an invitation to the in-crowd?  Or, will a kind soul stop and help me out of my distress and darkness, offering healing and help and hope?

My hope is in the Cross!  There, He displayed the heart of God.  There, He uttered the plea of forgiveness for blind sinners, ignorant of their own darkness.  There, He opened the gates of the paradise we lost.  There, He split open our darkness with the light to guide us home!
