SANDALS

 walk a mile in His shoes?!  to synagogue ... to help the hurting ... to teach the searching ... to dine with friends and family ... to heal the sick ... to private prayer ... to His judgement ... to His crucifixion ... a bloody pair of sandals with His clothes ...


only one pair?!  a simple man who lived a simple life.  "we must live simply, so that others may simply live". an active duty soldier avoids entanglements with civilian affairs!


Boaz sealed the deal for Ruth by removing a sandal and giving it to near kinsman, before many witnesses.


A small escort of soldiers cast lots, rolled dice, for his clothes.  One man walked away with a pair of blood-soaked sandals.  Did they even fit?  Did he know what he had?!  Where did they end up?  Did the demons grin as they stole His sandals?


Doubling down, Jesus removed both His sandals and willingly gave them, before many witnesses, taking his bride from the reach of another with a claim on her?!  Down the aisle, He will walk barefoot with his bride?!


When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments and divided them into four parts, one part for each soldier; also his tunic. But the tunic was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom, so they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see whose it shall be." This was to fulfill the Scripture which says, "They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." So the soldiers did these things,
